16th Herbage seed production seminar

We would like to invite you to participate in the 16th Nordic herbage seed production seminar, which will take place in Grimstad and Vestfold, Norway, from 20th until 22th of June 2016.
The seed production seminars, arranged by the Nordic Association of Agricultural Scientists (NJF), have a long tradition, with the first seminar being held in Denmark in 1964. Venue location normally rotates between Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland with 4-5 years intervals. The last time the seminar was arranged in Norway was in 1998.
The seminar is dedicated to creating a platform for exchanging the latest research results and sharing research methods in herbage seed production. The seminar program will embrace a wide range of seed production topics including:
- Plant breeding / variety testing with regard to seed yield potential
- Seed crop management (fertilization, growth regulation, straw treatments etc.)
- Plant protection (diseases, pest and weeds)
- Organic seed production
- Knowledge sharing

A preliminary seminar programme can now be downloaded.
The seminar will begin on 20 June at the Strand Hotel Fevik with presentations and seminar dinner, while on the second day (21 June) we will be travelling by bus to NIBIO Landvik research station (ca 10 min travel from the hotel), for further presentations and to look at seed production research trials. On the third and last day (22 June) we intend to travel by bus to Vestfold county, which is the main seed producing area of Norway (about 2,5 h travel east from Grimstad), where we will visit local seed producers and study on farm seed production trials.

Deadline for manuscripts (including abstracts): 1 May
